YOU MAWO is an independent eyewear label from Germany specializing in custom-fitted frames. Using a precise facial scan, each frame is tailored to the individual measurements of the wearer’s face and subsequently manufactured in Germany. YOU MAWO combines modern eyewear design with digital innovation.
A YOU MAWO frame is not based on a single standard size: every model is natively available in two base sizes. Furthermore, the frame can be precisely custom-fitted based on individual facial measurements (e.g., frame size, bridge width, temple length, and other characteristics). The result is eyewear perfectly tailored to each specific face.
YOU MAWO offers prescription frames for adults and children, as well as sunglasses.
Yes, YOU MAWO glasses can be individually adapted to the measurements of your face. This is done via facial scan at one of our partner opticians. Alternatively, frames can be selected directly from our ready-to-wear range, where two standard sizes are available for each model.
2. CUSTOM FIT & SIZING
First, a precise facial scan is created at a YOU MAWO partner store. The desired eyewear model is then customized based on the captured measurements. Parameters such as frame size, bridge width, temple length, and frame positioning can all be adjusted. The individually configured frame is then manufactured within a few weeks.
The scan is conducted by our partner opticians using the YOU MAWO iPad app or the ZEISS VISUFIT 1000. It captures the unique geometry of the face, providing significantly more precise data for frame fitting than standard frame dimensions.
Yes, YOU MAWO frames fit all face shapes. Especially when traditional standard frames do not fit well, custom tailoring offers a decisive advantage. This makes YOU MAWO ideal for people for whom standard glasses are often too wide, too narrow, too high or too low.
Not necessarily. Many needs can already be covered by our standard frames. The advantage of a custom fit becomes evident when standard frames fail to sit correctly. YOU MAWO combines targeted individual fitting with proven models rather than designing a completely new frame from scratch for every face.
Yes, a total of 12 different parameters can be adjusted. These include size, bridge width, temple length, and color. The fit of the glasses is tailored individually, creating a frame with a perfect fit and balanced proportions while preserving the distinctive style of the original design.
3. QUALITY & MANUFACTURING
YOU MAWO uses a specialized polyamide powder that is exceptionally heat-resistant and durable. In Germany, this material is also utilized in medical technology. The powder is entirely produced in Germany.
YOU MAWO utilizes the powder bed fusion process, also known as industrial 3D printing. Polyamide powder is fused layer by layer using a laser into a robust frame, which is then finished. The entire manufacturing process takes place in Germany.
3D printing enables a degree of customization that would be difficult or impossible to achieve with conventional manufacturing methods. It currently offers the best way to combine custom fit, design freedom, and digital production.
Every YOU MAWO frame undergoes a multi-stage finishing process. The surface is refined to create a velvety tactile feel. The desired color is then infused deep into the material, and the individual components are assembled by hand.
Yes, the polyamide used yields lightweight yet highly robust frames. The combination of material, construction, and manufacturing process is designed for comfortable, everyday wear. ZEISS also describes YOU MAWO frames as light and stable.
Yes, YOU MAWO glasses are among the lightest on the market, weighing up to just 14 grams without lenses. Thanks to the special printing process, they are approximately 30 percent lighter than traditional acetate frames.
Yes, every custom-fitted frame is unique. While the basic design of a model remains intact, the actual frame is always a one-of-a-kind piece thanks to 12 customizable parameters.
Yes, YOU MAWO frames are demonstrably sustainable. Production is strictly on-demand, preventing overproduction and resource waste. Furthermore, the manufacturing process reduces material waste by 80 percent compared to traditional acetate production. Climate-friendly processes and short transport routes within Germany result in an overall carbon footprint reduction of around 58 percent.

4. FOR OPTICIANS
YOU MAWO offers opticians an innovative concept for greater differentiation and individuality in the optical business. Using a 3D facial scan, frames are tailored to the precise topography of the face. The range includes several design lines manufactured in our own facility in Germany, complemented by fast delivery times, dedicated customer service, and regular training sessions.
YOU MAWO stands out significantly from standard offerings: through precise facial scanning and digital custom fitting, every frame becomes a bespoke designer piece perfectly tailored to the customer’s anatomy. The optician remains the primary consulting authority, supported by YOU MAWO customer service. Demand-driven digital manufacturing also ensures maximum sustainability and effortless reordering when needed.
YOU MAWO develops and produces its eyewear 100 percent in Germany. Frames are produced in-house, finished, and hand-assembled. Lenses are edged and fitted directly in the optician’s partner store, combining digital manufacturing with traditional optical craftsmanship.
The primary point of contact is YOU MAWO Customer Service, available Monday through Friday by phone and email. Additionally, a dedicated service representative is available to assist you.
Through YOU MAWO CARES, we support children with disabilities, such as Down syndrome, or special anatomical needs that standard frames cannot accommodate. The initiative offers custom-tailored eyewear solutions perfectly adapted to unique facial geometries – exclusively on fair and accessible terms. Available only at participating opticians.
5. FOR WEARERS
YOU MAWO glasses are available through selected partner stores and opticians. Personal consultation, model selection, facial scanning, and custom fitting take place on-site. Use our Store Finder to locate the nearest YOU MAWO partner.
No, YOU MAWO frames cannot be purchased online. Because each frame is individually customized, consultation and measurement take place in person at a partner store.
Yes, YOU MAWO frames can be combined with all types of spectacle lenses, including progressives. Your optician will determine which lenses are best suited for your vision needs.
If glasses slip, they are either poorly fitted or improperly adjusted. Through custom fitting, YOU MAWO provides a perfectly fitting frame for any face shape. Additionally, the temples can be adjusted by an optician for optimal hold.
YOU MAWO custom frames can be adjusted precisely to the geometry of your face. Depending on personal preference and fit, nose pads can also be incorporated.
The polyamide used is considered hypoallergenic. If you have known severe allergies, we recommend consulting with your optician beforehand.
For daily cleaning, YOU MAWO recommends using the included microfiber cleaning cloth. Additionally, the frame can be cleaned under lukewarm water with a pH-neutral dish soap and gently dried afterwards.
Your first step should be to visit your local partner optician. Since YOU MAWO stores all custom fitting data digitally and manufactures in its own facility, replacement frames can be reordered accurately and without hassle. For minor damage, the optician can often repair the glasses directly in their workshop.
