AI-ONE

AI-ONE Eyewear designed with Artificial Intelligence

The first pair of glasses, created with the support of artificial intelligence

In 2023, YouMawo presents the second capsule collection, which launched as part of the You Mawo Design Lab. The theme of this collection is dreams and dreaming.

Inspired by the short story “Las ruinas circulares” (Eng. The Circular Ruins) by the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges from 1944, the first model presented was designed on the topics of dreaming in a dream and the realization of dreams. The question of what is reality and what is a dream is a well-known theme in art and literature.

An example, surrealism as an artistic, even more so, as a cultural and intellectual movement.

WE USED ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TO CREATE, ALMOST DREAM GLASSES. BY ENTERING TEXT, TE AI GENERATES A GRAPHIC IMAGE.

For us, artificial intelligence was a tool in the creative process. A support to find new ideas and to try different things exploratively. A process driven by curiosity and openness to new technology. Something that we also embody as a company. In this sense, we are not afraid of these technologies either, because they represent the future for us and help us.

Design led by the support of artificial intelligence is an evolutionary process, like any other creative process. You exclude some details, pursue others and always do so with an open mind.

In the creative context it is much more important to control the process and above all to know when it is finished. This applies to a hand drawing, a three-dimensional design or a design through AI.

The machine dreamed up an image, we took as inspiration to generate a three-dimensional object and transfer it to reality through 3D printing. The result is the first mass-produced glasses designed with the support of artificial intelligence:

The AI-ONE

It’s definitely not your ordinary eyewear. With these glasses, the traditional design language is questioned and redesigned, for example, an inclined bridge also forms a keyhole. The outer band forms the bridge and nose pad. The jaw and temple area meanders forward and encloses the lens. The glass is open at the top.

THESE GLASSES CAME OUT OF A DREAM.
